Reading Lists: Guide for Copyright Staff

Source needs to be acquired

This status is commonly assigned when an instructor requires a digitization (e.g. an article from a journal to which Langara Library does not have access). This usually entails submitting an acquisition request on behalf of the instructor and attaching the supplied digitization to the reading.

To process these requests in TADC

  1. Click the Requests tab in the menu at the top of the page. Navigate to the digitization request and click the three vertical dots under Actions

  2. Select View details. You may now see the following Request Referred message on the left side of the screen:
    work needs to be acquired message

  3. Click Source request and select either:
    • Source from Inst. Non-Library Copy (e.g. an instructor's personal copy) OR;
    • Source request from an owned copy not in the library. Enter an explanatory note (e.g. "Ordered through ILL").
  4. Click Save.

Note: Save the digitization provided by Borrower Services or aquired through ILL to Meaghan's Talis - Digitized Files OneDrive folder for future use.
