Reading Lists: Guide for Copyright Staff

Copyright coversheets

When a digitization request is approved, TADC automatically generates a copyright coversheet and attaches it to the digitization (Talis refers to this as a bundle or "digitisation bundle").

The copyright statement on the coversheet reads: "This Digital Copy and any digital or printed copy supplied are for personal use in connection with this Course of Study." It is accompanied by the following details:

  • Course of study
  • Title of work
  • Author name(s)
  • Publisher

Details in the coversheet cannot be edited. More information about how TADC handles PDFs is provided on the Talis Support site.

Note: When the rights for a digitization have been manually obtained, TADC does not automatically generate a coversheet. Instead, Copyright Office staff should create a coversheet using a template or upload the coversheet provided by the rights holder to the digitization request. TADC will send the coversheet and digitization to the Packer to be bundled.

The example workflow for requests with the Copy Limit Exceeded status provides instructions for manually attaching a copyright coversheet to a digitization.
