This guide is designed to help you find credible, academic sources of information for the Gender and Infectious Disease Risk group assignment.
In today's class, you will be working in your groups, but each group member will individually submit the online library assignment form at the end of class. Your learning objectives are to:
- Identify what kinds of sources are trustworthy and appropriate for academic assignment
- Find at least 1 credible background source for your group's disease
- Learn where to find academic articles and how to use library databases
- Create and execute a MEDLINE search to find recent scholarly journal articles
- Choose 3 relevant articles on your group’s disease (12 articles per group)
- Discuss how to cite articles and effectively use citation management tools
- Generate draft citations for your 3 selected articles
- Individually submit the online library assignment before the end of class
