For More Help

  1. Ask a librarian anytime
Not sure how to start? Come talk to a librarian and we can guide you on how to create a citation from the simplest to the most obscure sources.
  2. Visit a Writing Centre tutor
Sometimes the hardest part is learning how to integrate citing into an essay or report to support your ideas. A Writing Centre tutor can help with this essential writing skill.
  3. Use the cite feature available in many of the Library's online databases
For example, when viewing a title in the Library's Quick Topic Search, simply click on 'cite' to generate a citation in different styles. Be sure to check the citation before pasting in your report - they are generated by a computer application and not always 100% accurate.
  4. Check out ZoteroBib
This is a great citation generator for the most common citation styles. Enter a url, ISBN, DOI or title to get started. It will also sort your citations into an alphabetical list and generate a footnote or in-text reference.**To create a full note for Chicago style, make sure you select Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (fullnote).
