Search the Library's collection of books, ebooks, DVDs and streaming videos by searching for your topic in the Langara Library Catalogue. You can try searching by:


Basic Keyword

(a good place to start). For example:


city planning
sustainable cities
Canadian communities





(good if you know the title of a specific book or video). For example:




(good if you want to find many books under the same library subject heading). Some examples of subject headings for this topic include:


city planning
human ecology
land use
regional planning
urban policy
Geographic information systems.




Subject headings

can be further subdivided by place and/or narrower topic. For example:


City planning -- British Columbia -- Greater Vancouver
Cities and towns -- Canada
Local transit -- British Columbia -- Greater Vancouver



Where may you use this?

You can use the same strategies to search the library catalogues at UBC, SFU, and the Vancouver Public Library. You may borrow books from other libraries using your Langara Library card.
