Mask Mandate

As of Friday, March 11, 2022, the public health order requiring face coverings in low-risk indoor public spaces has been repealed. Face coverings are now optional in all indoor public settings, including classrooms, recreation facilities, and common areas on Langara campuses. 

Food Policy

Drinks with lids are allowed in the Library. Food is allowed in the Library, with the exception of hot food or food with strong odours (e.g., pizza, hamburgers, etc.).

Accessing Library Materials

  • On campus pick up of print books and DVDs 

The Library is open to the public with regular borrowing practices. 

  • Digital scan of a book chapter or a journal article

    With the re-opening of the Library and the resumption of in-person classes, digital scanning of book chapters and journal articles is no longer offered as a regular service. If you are a student currently enrolled in an online class and does not live in Greater Vancouver, please email our Interlibrary Loan Service ill@langara.ca for distance education support.

    Note that under Canadian Copyright Law, we can only scan one article, one chapter or less than 10% of a book. 
The Library is open to the public with regular borrowing practices. Note that textbooks are usually kept in the Library's Reserve section, which have shorter loan periods .
A Langara student returns a book using the Library's outdoor book drop.When the library is closed: return materials to the outside drop box. Go to southwest entrance of the L building, on the left side of the entry doors is a little metal door to drop items into.
When the library is open: return materials to the Check Out Desk (next to the IT desk) on the first floor.
Regular late fees are in effect. Payment of late fees must be done in-person at the Library, by debit or cash. If you have questions about late fees, please contact Borrower Services by email circulation@langara.ca or by phone 604-323-5462.
Library databases, e-book collections, and streaming video collections can be accessed remotely using your Screen capture of the filters found on the Library's Quick Topic Search. The "eBooks Only" filter is highlighted.Langara e-mail and password.
The Library has added a filter to its Quick Topic Search (the search bar on the Library home page) to make finding e-books easier. After searching, you can select “eBooks Only” from the list of filters on the results page.
