During this class. we will do the following:
- Explore and specify your topic for the emerging disease assignment
- Learn what kinds of sources are trustworthy and appropriate for academic assignments
- Find at least 1 credible background source you can use for this assignment
- Learn where to find academic articles and how to use library databases
- Find at least 3 articles on your topic that you can use in your assignment
- Talk about plagiarism – what it is and how to avoid it
- Practice identifying proper and improper paraphrasing
- Discuss how to cite articles (including how to use database citation tools)
- Prepare draft citations for your selected articles, that you can use in your assignment
