POLI 1119 - Canadian Politics and Government (Prosperi)

Term Essay

For your term essay, you are required to write an argumentative essay of eight double-spaced pages on an issue within Canadian politics. Your course syllabus as a list of suggested topics. These topics will have to be narrowed and refined for this short research assignment.

In this paper, you are expected to interact with a minimum of 5 secondary sources though a well-researched paper may include more. It is recommended that you refrain from using unevaluated internet resources for your research. Many resources that are acceptable for your assignment will not be available through regular internet searching (like using Google) - instead, you are expected to use the library's scholarly resources in your paper.

This guide is designed to help you find scholarly books and journal articles that will be acceptable resources for your final paper. This is a great place to begin; these are not exhaustive lists of resources. Use the suggestions in the guides to find more keywords, narrow or refine your topic, and have examples of the kinds of resources you are required to find for your paper.

For more instructions on the paper structure, please refer to the Guidelines for Academic Essays document produced by the Department of History, Latin, and Political Science.
