POLI 1100 - Introduction to Government Politics (Evans)

Assignment Requirements

For your Argumentative Essay Assignment in this class, you are to produce:

  1. Marks for the online library tutorials. More information about the tutorials can be found here:
    1. Online Library Tutorials Guide
  2. An annotate bibliography with at least 8 sources that responds to an essay topic
  3. An argumentative essay of 6-8 pages that examines what various authorities have to say on a given subject and develops an opinion based on the research you gather.

In your discussion of your chosen topic, you are expected to interact with a minimum of 5 credible sources though a well researched paper may include more. It is recommended that you refrain from using unevaluated internet sources for your research. Many of the resources that are acceptable for your assignment will not be available through regular internet searching (like using Google) - instead, you are expected to use the library's scholarly resources in your paper.

This guide is designed to help you find scholarly books and journal articles that will be acceptable resources for your final paper. This is a great place to begin; these are not exhaustive lists of resources. Use the suggestions in the guides to find more keywords, narrow or refine your topic, and have examples of the kinds of resources you are required to find for your paper.
