Apply to be a Writing Centre Tutor

When

The Writing Centre accepts applications at the beginning of each semester – Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Qualifications

To qualify, you should:

• have completed six credits of first-year English (or equivalent)
• be a current Langara student
• have excellent writing skills
• have excellent interpersonal skills
• enjoy helping others

Benefits 

Working in the Writing Centre gives you a paying job right here on campus and helps you, through teaching others, become a better writer yourself.

Training

Tutors will receive training at the beginning of their first semester of tutoring.

Hours 

A normal assignment is four hours per week. Depending on the Writing Centre’s needs and the tutor’s own schedule, it can be a little more or less than that, depending on the number of hours available.

To apply, please send an e-mail to the coordinator, indicating your interest and (briefly) your reasons for wanting to work in the Writing Centre.
