The Research Essay or Term Paper

Titles and Title Page

Most essays are expected to have a title page. The title page gives the title of the essay, author's name, course, the instructor's name, and date of submission. The title page is not numbered.

Your title should state the topic and reflect your attitude toward the topic. Here are sample titles:

"Dow Shalt Not Kill: A Protest Against the Dumping of Organochlorine Chemicals in the Great Lakes"

"The Brain is a Terrible Thing to Splatter: The Case for Bicyclists Wearing Helmets"

"It's Not the Mountie Uniform: It's the Mountie Wearing It"
