Annotated Bibliographies
A bibliography is “a list of books or other forms of written material” (Bibliography, 2016). Arranged in alphabetical order by author name, a bibliography always supplies certain kinds of information – the information found in a proper reference or citation: for example the authors, title, edition, and date and place of publication for the resource.
An annotation is “a note added to anything written, by way of explanation or comment” (Annotation, 2017).
Thus, an annotated bibliography is an alphabetically organized list of resources, in which the citation for each resource is accompanied by brief notes indicating the subject treated by the resource or commenting on the usefulness of the resource.
